Well here we are! Our first church! My husband I have just been called to pastor a small town Baptist church here in Texas. Both of us being small town kids we were quite excited to be called back to a small town. We now have two weeks under our belt and are excited about what God has in store for us! We have a lot of work to be done over the next month or so just to get moved and in full swing in the church!
I want to take a moment to introduce myself and my family so you will have some idea of who you are reading! My husband and I were married 5 years ago (March 2007) and just three months after we wed he informed me that he had felt the call into ministry most of his life and believed that now he HAD to surrender. I was shocked, floored, upset, mad...well you get the idea. We were the proverbial lost sheep that had JUST COME HOME!!! We had only been back in the church for 3 months!!! Our wedding is actually what got us back in the church!!! I felt sure my husband was delusional! However, we set out on this journey together and took our first step in faith!
We have over the past 5 years both worked to finish our degrees (his in Christian Ministry and then his Masters of Divinity and mine in Education) and along the way the enemy has tried to deter us from The Master's calling. Our home burned in 2007 (September) leaving us homeless, my husband had open heart surgery to replace his aortic valve in 2007 (November) and wasn't expected to survive, custody issues and court that kept us on our faces and walking in CONSTANT FORGIVENESS (for others as well as ourselves), and the biggest trial of all in 2010 my husband was diagnosed with Leukemia. However, through each and every trial (and these are just the big ones) God has remained faithful to His promise and we have grown to understand and see His miraculous healings and gifts manifest. He is the ultimate healer, comfort and above all the ultimate provider for everything!
I hope to use this blog to meet other PW's and create wonderful connections with Godly women who understand the trials and triumphs of being a PW! I also want to find other PW's to help me figure out what the heck I am doing! My first question...Is there a manual?
Love and Blessings,
